Getting things deleted from Google's cache |
|
This came from the security-basics mailing list thanks to Saqib Ali. - One other thing I found ( thanks to "es0" on #unisog) is the url to request Google to remove items from the cache urgently. This still requires that Google gets a 404 for the url and takes "3 to 5 days". Direct link: http://services.google.com:8882/urlconsole/controllerv

Like to Tinker? NASA's looking for you |
|
|
New York Times on Makers building space gear - "Contracts belonged mostly to the Boeings of the world. Tinkerers and students were kept at the far edge of the periphery. But with budgets tightening and the obstacles to human space exploration looking more daunting, NASA is enlisting the expertise of outsiders. For example, the agency is offering 13 contests, which it calls Centennial Challenges, that anyone can enter. The prizes range from $200,000 to more than $5 million, for building gear as diverse as solar sails, lunar excavators and the tiny elevators." Thanks John! - Link.

amazing piece of video remixing software |
|
|
sCrAmBlEd? HaCkZ! by Sven König is an
amazing piece of video remixing software. It’s built using C++, Python and PureData. It takes music videos, chops them
up by beats and indexes the samples by sound signature in a database. You then beatbox into a microphone to describe
the music you want to hear. The software builds the music you want out of the sample database. Sven has put together an
excellent video that describes the program and has example performances. It’s a must watch. Get it either
directly from his site or
watch it on YouTube.
