Cross turned me on to this band 'The Black Angels' a while back, and I got hooked pretty hard. you can find some of their music on pandora if you are so inclined. anyways, apparently they are about to rock out at the all-new funfunfunfest
at waterloo park on dec 1st. lineup and detailed info follows.
Fun Fun Fun Fest is a first for Austin, TX. NOT the first festival in
the "music capital of the world," by far, but it is the first of it's
kind for the music loving town. Festivals here have always been about
specific genres, but this would be one of the first that incorporates
all cool and cutting edge music. Underground music isn't only punk
unknown garage bands. We wanted to showcase the wide spectrum that has
grown out of this scene: punk, indie rock, dj, etc. And it there is a
next year (depending on how this thing does), we'd like to have even
more next year, with hip hop, metal, singer/songwriter and the like.
Anyway, with 3 stages and mix or 25 bands all in one day, we think
it's a pretty good start! And for only $20 ($25 at the door), we feel
the price is right and hope others do as well. Ticket are available
online at www.funfunfunfest.com or at records stores like Waterloo,
End of An Ear and Sound on Sound.
The event will take place at Waterloo Park on Friday, 12/1. Doors are
at 1pm and show is at 2pm...music will go up until 10pm. For more
